Thursday 23rd May

This was a busy day for the team moving equipment to the SpaceX facility (SLC-4) and final preparations on the satellite.

The results of what is called a stagemate, where the booster and interstage are mated, were analysed to check all was well before the green light was given for encapsulation.

This is always an emotional moment for the team as it is the last time they will physically see the satellite after working on it daily for many years.

The final covers were removed and the passive fairing half brought together with the active half followed by loud clonks as the latches were closed.

Hopefully picture to follow but non allowed at the moment.

The team also discovered they had their own “White Dragon” 😁 modelling a CPR top.
